Who we are.....

The following rogues gallery gives you an idea of who we are and what we all like to do. I apologise in advance for any distress caused by some of these images......

Yours truly - will play anything with anyone but main interests are Napoleonics, especially From Valmy to Waterloo, Harpoon 4, Command at Sea, Babylon 5: A Call to Arms and anything by Games Workshop. Also play a number of board and card games, including Advanced Squad Leader, World in Flames, Great Campaigns of the American Civil War series, Magic: The Gathering and the Lord of the Rings. Finally, play in a number of online games including the excellent Middle Earth run by Harlequin and Napoleonic Empires.

Pete is a legend in his own lunchtime - anytime he explains to you, very plausably, how by doing a couple of simple things, you will be in a position to win the game within 3 turns, run, very fast 'cos 10:1 you'll have been knocked out within 2 turns and he will be storming to ultimate world domination. Pete plays any board or card game that's silly and has the biggest collection of strange and unheard of games that has been seen outside of Toys 'R Us.

Rick is our resident German, as you can clearly tell from the picture he is the very image of Aryan makeup..... Main interests are ACW (Johnny Reb III), Warhammer 40k and Advanced Squad Leader, though his current addiction to eBay has resulted in the production and playing of many old board games (not always successfully).

Looking particularly sultry (he was being forced to do mental arithmatic), Bob is our resident Tread Head. If it has tanks in it, he'll play it. Bob has his own very informative web site and is the author of a number of WWII Orders of Battle, co-author of the clubs home grown Ironclads rules and is mentioned in despatches in a number of commercially available rulesets including a Fist Full of TOWs and the forthcoming Command Decision 4.

Carl is our ex-Royal Marine who's wardrobe dates from his time of military service (so says his wife, anyway). Like most of us, he'll play just about anything but is currently into Warhammer, Warhammer 40k and ACW (Johnny Reb III ).

John, aka Mr Beer and Fags (that's the English version, for any Americans reading this) can remember the CRT from every SPI and Avalon Hill board game he has ever played. Fairly widespread interests including Warhammer, Warhammer 40k, Babylon 5: A Call to Arms, Napoleonics and Ancients.

Dave's interests tend to mirror John's, the two of them spending a lot of time down the pub discoursing on weighty matters. The legendary owner of several started and only partially completed Warhammer armies, as well as a number of Ancients armies, Babylon 5: A Call to Arms fleets and assorted 40k bits.

Roger is the honoury father of the club, being one of its longest serving members and treasurer. Always to be seen with pipe in hand, Roger plays any number of games and is a dab hand at building odd bits of terrain and converting just about anything into anything.
