Consim World Conflict simulation gaming news and forums. As the name suggests, the site concentrates primarily on Wargames.

Historical

Feldgrau Superb, non-political site dedicated to the German armed forces between 1918-1945. In addition to the expected sections covering the Wehrmacht, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine and Waffen-SS, there are also sections covering the Freiwillige (foreign volunteer formations), Alliierte (Axis-allied nations) and the Wehrmachtsgefolge (Auxiliary organisations).
Bayonet Strength An enthusiasts' site devoted to the various small unit organisations deployed by the major combatants during World War Two.
Naval Encyclopedia Advertises itself as a “World War II Naval Encyclopaedia” and is full of information. Unfortunately it was last updated in April 2003; so don’t anticipate any new content soon!
La Regia Marina Excellent site devoted to the Italian Navy during WWII. Packed with information, the site also boasts it’s own online shop.
Axis History Factbook Another non-political site dedicated to the history of the Third Reich and it’s allies. Contains useful information on the Axis “minors”, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary and Slovakia.
Operation Barbarossa Site dedicated to Operation Barbarossa and the Eastern Front in general. Despite the irritating Yahoo sidebar, this is a worthwhile site that’s worth checking out.
Shotgun's Home of ACW A superb site, packed with essays, OOBs and articles, dedicated to the American Civil War. The site also includes Official Records and After Battle Reports for many of the listed battles. For example, you can read Lee’s General Order No 74 which details how the Confederate retreat from Gettysburg would be made.
The Napoleon Series Another superb site, this time dedicated to the Napoleonic Wars. Absolutely crammed with information, this site should answer any question you may have about this popular period in history.
Cassie & Tom's Gettysburg Photos An enthusiasts site with many photo's of the battlefield of Gettysburg, laid out in sections with commentary accompanying each section. The photo's are both modern and contemporary and give a good feel for the battlefield.
