74 - 66 Victory against Mani Cheema - Chaos Space Marines (Slaves to Darkness).Thoughts
Liam VSL continues his fantastic recent run of form with another Super Major triumph. This continuing evolution on his CSM list goes a bit heavier on transports, with three to ferry the Chosen and Rubrics forward. The latter give you some OC2 and overwatch threat to bring to the mix, whilst the rest of the list does the CSM thing - pushes out at tremendous speed, bodies you off points via Lord-inspired Chosen, and picks you apart with high quality shooting. One of the best lists in the game with one of the best players in the world right now. Congratulations Liam!Mani Cheema - Chaos Space Marines (Slaves to Darkness) - 2nd Place

CSM Accursed / ChosenThoughts
Mani has cooked up a CSM build that goes very light on guns and VERY heavy on board presence. Accursed bricks anchor the objectives whilst an array of five man squads yeet out from transports to shut down the foe. Legionnaires provide a similar give and go in the trade wars as Rubrics but for cheaper, with the Slaanesh mark helping you get advance and charge or fall back and charge as required, which can also help them score secondaries if needed. A very cool take that hasn't been seen out and about yet, so very well done Mani on the innovation.Jokull Johannsson - Aeldari (Battle Host) - 3rd Place

Triple Spinner Aeldari is very much a known entity at this point, but Jokull piloted this to great effect over the weekend. Immensely powerful and capable of putting up big numbers and playing around or through all but the very scariest of foes. Excellent work sir!David Gaylard - Aeldari (Battle Host) - 4th Place

IGNITE Triple Spinner AeldariThoughts
More of the same from David here, with a build similar to his teammates but blessed with a small squad of Rangers. I think these are invaluable in the wider meta game as they can help you to stimy pre-game moves and other forward deploy that the opponent might try to leverage to get the tempo in the game and put you on the back foot, so it was an astute tech choice. Congratulations on the top placing David. The Best of the Rest
There were 3 more players on 7-1 records. They were:- 5th - Danny Porter - Leagues of Votann: Lots of Sagitaurs and 20 Hearthguard with two big slabs of Pioneers- I think this may become more popular as Danny has a way of shaping the Votann approach almost singlehanded...
- 6th - Greg Chamberlain - Leagues of Votann: Lots of Hearthguard, Sagitaurs and a Land Fort. Up the dwarves!!
- 7th - Ranchen Li - Leagues of Votann: A Votann build that can go all-in on transports and board presence as required, with the Hearthguard running in fives for Land Fort compatibility. Excellent.

Final Round Matchup
72 - 52 Victory against Michael Boyle - Chaos Space Marines (Slaves to Darkness).Thoughts
Sisters haven't consolidated around a single build yet, but this take from Vik highlights the direction that might work best in the current field. Loads of artillery support from the Exorcists, plenty of bodies and durable slabs of Arco-Flagellants, and some sneaky combination play via Melta armed mini-squads of Sisters and the Triumph of St Katherine- this can absolutely push through some serious melta damage if you stray into view. Crusaders combine very effectively with the Suffering and Sacrifice stratagem, forcing enemy units to waste their activations into them in combat to protect the other units and control the fight phase. Magic dice, artillery, and sneaky tricks... Aeldari, is that you?! Congratulations on living that visionary life and taking down the event with something a bit different Vik!Alex Petford - Aeldari (Battle Host) - 2nd Place (Undefeated)

Aeldari GoodstuffThoughts
A build Alex has been doing very well with continues to perform here, supporting the usual Aeldari good bits with a single Starweaver and Troupe antics to give you a bit more give and go on the objectives and more trigger points for the Yncarne. A combination players dream. Really well done on the top placing!Vincent Chan - Death Guard (Plague Company) - 3rd Place (Undefeated)

Death Guard TanksThoughts
Death Guard are good- tell your friends. Predator Destructors benefit massively from their new +1 ap contagion option, and this list can shell the opponent at a distance before picking them up as they stray into sight. Blight Haulers and Drones fly forwards to spread the good news of Nurgle's deliverance (and the Contagion ranges) and this list simply presents more armoured threats than a lot of lists can deal with in time. Awesome work Vincent.Matthew McCurdy - Space Wolves (Stormlance Task Force) - 4th Place

Space Wolves Mixed ArmsThoughts
Space Wolves continue to get the best out of Storm Lance, which goes a really long way on Thunderwolves who love the ability to slingshot up the board and start the party early. Wulfen may be rubbish but they sure as hell are cheap, giving this list a nice option for back and forth on the points without breaking the bank. Inceptors drop in to score and slay as required, a real all-rounder build. Congratulations! The Best of the Rest

- 10th - Chris Tull - Aeldari: Double Nightspinner Aeldari with loads of the tricksy MSU options.

84 - 58 Victory against Cliff Nelson - Black Templars (Righteous Crusaders).Thoughts
Ok, an awesome, original CSM list. They're out there, you just have to dig. Land Raider to pull Nurgle-stratagem shenanigans with, Abaddon flanked by two enhancement juiced murder characters in a Lord and a Daemon Prince, and freaking Keeper of Secrets. Loads of nasty incision pieces here and more by way of large, hard to remove threats rather than the kill-and-die MSU of the more common builds. I absolutely love this, well done on the win Mark! The Best of the Rest

- 4th - Daniel Kelley - Necrons (Awakened Dynasty): Masses of Destroyers and Heavy destroyers, a C'tan, and some Warriors and Immortals.
- 5th - Joseph Binns - Death Guard: A DEFILER!! A LAND RAIDER!!! And a bunch of other smaller infantry units with a big ten slab of Blightlords for brawling. Epic.
- 6th - Ian Thornton - Necrons: The Silent King, three Doomsday Arks and some Lychguard amist other scoring pieces.

100 - 68 Victory against Rich Dudley - Drukhari (Realspace Raiders).Thoughts
Ok, Grot Tanks are legit. These have been seeing a lot more play lately- their ability to scoot out of harm with Scatter! gives you some trick plays, and the shooting is very good into marine bodies that are making up more and more of the field. I like the inclusion of Snikrot for a cheaper infiltrating alternative to Kommandos, that can also boop on and off the board like a stabby green Callidus. A very cool list that highlights the range of tools available to Orks right now.The Best of the Rest
There were 5 more players on X-1 records. They were:- 2nd - Rich Dudley - Drukhari (Realspace Raiders): A sensational Drukhari build with massed Kabalites split up across a tonne of Venoms and TWO Tantalus. Epic Kabalite based action.
- 3rd - David Bierek - Chaos Space Marines (Slaves to Darkness): All-in CSM shooting with Abby, Fiends, Oblits and Predators with a big Nurgling screen.
- 4th - Sergey Tupikov - Necrons (Awakened Dynasty): A single Lychguard brick, loads of Destroyers and Doomsday Arks - Crons are moving away from durability and over to hard target removal...
- 5th - James Lee - Dark Angels (Gladius Task Force): Gladius Dark Angels with 30 Deathwing Knights. Brutally durable. For Christ's sake, nobody tell my team mate Paul that this did well...

95 - 56 Victory against Joe Senior - Aeldari (Battle Host).Thoughts
A very cool Votann list that doesn't skew as hard into vehicles and packs the threats wide instead, with loads of character supported Thunderkyn and Hearthguard. This absolutely slaps out of reserves and will simply annihilate the unwary. The Votann are in a really strong spot, and all sorts of builds can compete! What a turnaround from a few months ago. Very well done on first place. The Best of the Rest

Matchup & Mission - Ad Mech versus Chaos Knights
Alexander Englezos - Cult Mechanicus (Rad-Cohort)vs.
Jordan McGregor - Chaos Knights (Traitoris Lance)
Thoughts
Ok, a very unusual match up for this showdown, as the Chaos Knights hunt down the Adeptus Mechanicus. On paper this feels close- the Ad Mech have excellent hard target removal in the Ironstriders, and a lot of mission give and go in the huge number of Vanguard in Transports. There is some admirable experimentation here, with Breachers staying home, but I'd imagine those would do a lot of work in this match up that now falls to the Chickens to accomplish...On the Chaos Knight side the massed Armigers have a slight edge in being able to do a lot more damage without committing into view, sending out Dogs a few at a time via Knights of Shade, with the ability to crack transports with well placed Melta and then whittle away the contents with massed indirect. I think this is probably what tips it here, as the Ad Mech shooting, whilst deadly, is a lot more honest, and they lack the leverage and tricks the CK can apply to control their engagements.
The massed mission play of the Vanguard also struggles a bit when confronted with the battle-shock heavy shenanigans of the Chaos Knights, which can stimy their efforts to score and deny primary. It looks like this all added up to a close game which the CK were able to take thanks to their slightly more insidious locker of tools.

CSM War Dogs and Daemon AlliesFinal Round Matchup
89 - 80 Victory against Alexander Englezos - Cult Mechanicus (Rad-Cohort).Thoughts
Another take on the War Dogs and Daemon Allies hype, this build takes slightly less baby knights so that more of the usual tools CSM like to bring can make an appearance - getting Syll'Esske in feels like a really nice option, and this variant packs slightly more utility to help it score its way through games. Excellent work on the event win Jordan. The Best of the Rest
