Matchup & Mission - Thousand Sons (Grand Coven) versus Imperial Knights (Noble Lance)
Alex Fowler - Thousand Sons (Grand Coven)vs.
Alex Chancellor - Imperial Knights (Noble Lance)
Thoughts
A spicy showdown from our very own GT this week, as Alex's Tsons, fresh from WTC, throwdown against 6++ hero Alex Chancellor and his potent brand of 'whatever the hell he feels like'. The Coven list is well established - Mutaliths as bait, brutal follow up from bow goats, Magnus and Rubrics. There is a degree of symmetry in the Knight corner, where either Imperial Agent allies or Armigers can serve as early bait before jamming Canis and the Crusader into the fray.Tsons have the edge in terms of raw damage here, but they have to be very careful in the application and pick their moment, as they're pretty fragile in the face of the shooting coming out of the IK corner. In the event this one was cagey with various bait units being thrown out into the middle for several turns, before the Tsons were able to isolate and drop the big knights and throw the game open. Even then Alex's list has plenty of smaller bits for scrapping for points with, and the game went down to the very last few plays. An excellent finale which saw the Tsons triumphant!

Tsons GoodstuffThoughts
No huge surprises here - Tsons goodstuff reigns supreme. The list requires patience and a keen eye for opposing mistakes to pilot properly, but leveraged right can engineer small to medium wins out of almost anything. Big congratulations to Alex who came back from WTC and immediately took out the GT, winning Best Sport with a perfect 50/50 score on his way too! No easy feat... #Newengland. The Best of the Rest
There were 6 more players on 4-1 records. They were:- 2nd - Byron 🔥🎲 Sidhu - Chaos Daemons (Daemonic Incursion): Glorious old-school monster mash with Belly, Rotigus, a GUO, and some Screamer MSU.
- 3rd - Harley Scully - Grey Knights (Warpbane Task Force): A Stormraven list that Harley tried desperately to ditch after submission in favour of World Eaters, but evidently worked out ok in the end...
- 4th - Ed Watts - Space Wolves (Gladius Task Force): Massed Wulfen, Thunderwolves, and infantry in Gladius.
- 5th - Aidan Brocklehurst - Blood Angels (Liberator Assault Group): Brutal all-in BA with loads of trading pieces and murder bricks.
- 6th - Alex Chancellor - Imperial Knights (Noble Lance): The IK / Agents soup from the Showdown, cutting back the bigs in favour of more mission play.
- 7th - Adam Gourlay - Emperor's Children (Coterie of the Conceited): Coteries Goodstuff a la John Lennon.

Kauyon GunlineThoughts
T'au have had a weird few months, seemingly dropping off outside the occasional run and the enduring nonsense of Kroot Hunting Pack. It's awesome, therefore, to see a GT win for Kauyon, with it's trade mark 'loads of guns that go up to madness in T3'. Protecting the gunline until it's time to clean up is no easy feat in a meta of stat checks and rushes, but if you can buy the time you can capitalise in a big way late game, and challenger cards can very much be your friend on the way. Fantastic work on the event win!The Best of the Rest
There were 4 more players on 4-1 records. They were:- 2nd - Nick Brooks - Drukhari (Reaper's Wager): Beastmaster rush Drukhari with a big brick of Skyweavers and Hellions in support.
- 3rd - Leander Karlsen - Space Wolves (Saga of the Beastslayer): Massed Thunderwolves and Headtakers in Beastslayer.
- 4th - Hans-Kristian Braun - Aeldari (Aspect Host): Beautiful MSU Aspect Host with a load of Phoenix Lords leading the charge. Maugan Ra is in!!!
- 5th - Evhen Kokidko - Necrons (Starshatter Arsenal): Lots of Wraiths, DDAs, and a brick of Triarch Praetorians in Starshatter.

30 Berzerk MayhemThoughts
A last hurrah for Oathband in the old form, as it sails off into the sunset to be replaced by Yield Points and various cool new kits. This list goes HARD on Berzerks, to put the absolute slap down on any big Knight with the temerity to come midboard. Not a bad shout in this meta, and an awful lot to chew through. Fantastic work on the event win - will we see more triple fort nonsense in the near future? Perhaps...The Best of the Rest
There were 3 more players on 4-1 records. They were:- 2nd - Conor Crowley - Aeldari (Warhost): Double Wave Serpent War Host with a big old brick of Fire Dragons and Dark Reapers respectively.
- 3rd - Daire O'Mahony - Tyranids (Subterranean Assault): Tunnel bug MSU with Genestealers, Raveners, and Swarmy leading the charge.
- 4th - Peter Ghelfi - Black Templars (Gladius Task Force): Another ominous sighting of the new Templars - Repulsor Executioners, Sword Brethren, and very cheap punchy characters.

Virulent GoodstuffThoughts
Stompy Virulent with mini-Morty is very much the flavour of the moment for Death Guard, and is likely to continue to be so as Hammer falls away under the recent nerfs. An excellent debuffing, objective playing toolkit befitting of Mortarion's Legion, -1 damage covers a multitude of sins in an increasingly melee inclined meta too. Fantastic work on the event win.Josh Crowe - Imperial Knights (Noble Lance) - 2nd Place

Imperial KnightsThoughts
Imperial Knights continue to stomp about doing stompy things! The Crusader is a good plug in alongside the Atropos, as I found out in a showdown against Polands Skark at WTC. The guns there give you some much needed volume for hordes, and help you mitigate some of the infantry skew lists looking to capitalise on low volume knight shooting. An excellent build. Very well done on the top placing.Nick Jagiello - Astra Militarum (Hammer of the Emperor) - 3rd Place

Dorns and CanisThoughts
Big tanks are fun, ok? Canis lines up with a Dorn on either side like he's taking his dogs for a walk, and proceeds to yeet them through walls with his bare hands. That's how I'm imagining this playing out anyway... Fantastic work on the top placing.Éric Marcoux - Imperial Knights (Noble Lance) - 4th Place

IK GoodstuffThoughts
Straight up triple Atropos violence here - not without it's bad match ups, but phenomenally potent when it can overrun the foe, and more than capable of smashing up opposing Knights too. It will be very interesting to see if this skew can persist after the slate, or if one of the bigs has to make way. Fantastic work on the top placing. The Best of the Rest

Champions of ContagionThoughts
An intriguing meta flex here, as the Nurgle Daemon Prince slots into Champions! You don't see him here much, but in all honesty, it does make sense. Champs has some fantastic strats (not least the full hit and wound rerolls of the wonderfully named Malignance Magnified) so being able to hit the go button on these as much as you can is a big deal. Otherwise, go-wide Death Guard as usual here! Fantastic work on the event win.Cam Wilkinson - T'au Empire (Retaliation Cadre) - 2nd Place (Undefeated)

Crisis? What Crisis?Thoughts
Ret Cadre drops down and starts blasting, and I am HERE for it. Triple Sunforge gives you some quite serious hard-target removal here, and whilst you are playing an absolute knife-edge game to leverage the suits and damage appropriately before they meet a sticky end, if you can hit on your terms you can then pick off the opponent at will as space opens up. Epic to see a couple of non-Kroot T'au builds having good runs this week! Very well done indeed. The Best of the Rest
There were 7 more players on 4-1 records. They were:- 3rd - Ezra Blow - Adeptus Custodes (Lions of the Emperor): Caladius backline, with Guard and Wardens ahead.
- 4th - Luke Paruman - Astra Militarum (Combined Arms): Double Dorn, double Bullgryn, triple Russ Combined Arms.
- 5th - sterling Arnet - Aeldari (Warhost): Glorious War Host MSU including two squads of Shining Spears to make my heart sing.
- 6th - Koby Taylor - Space Marines (Astartes) (Gladius Task Force): Vintage Ultramarines Gladius with Vindicators.
- 7th - Louis Thomson-Gregg - Blood Angels (Liberator Assault Group): All-in BA death bricks with MSU Vanguard Veterans.
- 8th - James Wardle - Aeldari (Ghosts of the Webway): Genuine Harlequins - loads of Troupes, bricks of Skyweavers, and some Voidweavers. Knights beware!!
- 9th - Logan Cain - Imperial Knights (Noble Lance): Canis, some bigs, and some Armigers and agents.

Wings has done this on purposeThoughts
I am absolutely certain someone has left me a 'Hammer with Despoiler' list down the end as a sneaky surprise just when I was starting to think the meta was healing. Obviously this is a window to the past now - but will we continue to see it going forwards?! We will know very, very soon. The Best of the Rest
There were 6 more players on 4-1 records. They were:- 2nd - John Vuchetich - Chaos Knights (Lords of Dread): Double Despoiler, a Lancer and an Atropos in Dread with some Nurgle Daemon friends.
- 3rd - kyle lamperez - Imperial Knights (Noble Lance): Canis, two Wardens, and loads of Armigers.
- 4th - Matthew Doughman - Imperial Knights (Noble Lance): Canis, two Atropos, and loads of Armigers.
- 5th - John Indellicate - Genestealer Cult (Biosanctic Broodsurge): Chunky Biosanctic with two full bricks of Aberrants - Patriarch stays home to frustrate IK! LOVE IT.
- 6th - Chase Campbell - T'au Empire (Mont'ka): A real all-rounder Mont'ka list with Broadsides, Skyrays, and Devilfish.
- 7th - Joe Guzowski - Chaos Space Marines (Pactbound Zealots): MSU Legios and Raptors ride alongside a glorious Khorne Land Raider full of Chosen. Epic stuff.
Wrap Up
There we are folks! Early signs of a meta on the turn, as new points settle in. It's going to be very interesting seeing how the pieces fall now - is speedy pressure combat back? Can Knights continue to hang? Are Death Guard eternal? Only time will tell! Get out there and stress test that meta for us, and we will see you next week.Lowest of Men, out.
